Our Purpose

Financial education is often not designed with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in mind. Take Charge Lab was created to close that gap by providing clear, engaging instruction that helps participants build confidence with money and develop skills for greater independence. Financial literacy is a critical life skill, but for many individuals with IDD, traditional programs are not designed with their needs in mind.

This creates a serious gap:

  • Limited access to financial education

  • Increased vulnerability to financial abuse

  • Reduced opportunities for independence

Take Charge Lab exists to close that gap.

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to:

  • Understand money

  • Make informed financial decisions

  • Live with confidence and independence

By combining accessibility, expert-designed curriculum, and real-world application, we are building a pathway toward financial empowerment for the IDD community.

Impact

Take Charge Lab helps individuals:

  • Make financial decisions without relying on others

  • Reduce risk of financial exploitation

  • Build independence and self-determination
